Hi All. Can someone help me with my fridge as Ive bought a van with a Electrolux Gas / 240v / 12v type fridge and no instructions. Ive tested it on 240 today and its ice box was frozen after an hour so I was happy with that. There,s another switch for the 12v, does this only operate if connected to the car to keep cool between sites or can i use it on site in the 12v position,or both, the van is a 94 bailey with a new battery fitted.

The fridge cant run off the caravans battery, its configured only to run off the cars alternator therefore the car engine needs to be running.

This is because it takes such a high current it would soon flatten the van or car batteries.

On site your only options are mains or gas operation.
