Fridge Gas and Electric

Can you use both Gas & Electric at the same time to cool your fridge once on site, for say an hour or two?

I noticed that JTQ said that you can use both gas & electric together for water heater.

Les, the answer is yes and no! On all the vans I have owned, except my new one, you could as there was a seperate gas and mains controls on the Electrolux fridge so both could be on at the same time. With my 2006 van there has been an "improvement" which means that on the Domestic fridge has a single rotary switch which selects either gas, 12v or mains. As others have said on the forum many times progress is not all it's cracked up to be. Ray
