Fridge not turning off

Hi. My Thetford fridge isn't turning off for some reason. The power button does nothing when holding it down for a few seconds. The only way I can get it off is to remove the fuse. When I put the fuse back in it goes back to its permanently on state. I have even left it a day to see if it resets itself but no luck

Has anyone had a similar issue?

When you say it is not turning off, what exactly do you mean?
Is it still cooling? or is it the interior light that seems to stay on?

Like Damian - the interior light is 12v and will illuminate with the door open until the 'master' switch for the caravan is turned off.
When the van is not in use the fridge should be cleaned and the door left ajar to help prevent any mould growth within - hence the addition to the door catch to enable 'ajar'. I also use a small piece of foam to prop open the ice-box lid, then my fridge is thoroughly aired ready for next time out!

It's the light and the control panel display. On the display I have a power button which I hold for 3 secs that then turns off the light and display. The master switch is off.

If I leave the door open now then it beeps to tell me the door is open so I need to be able to turn off the fridge. The only way I can do it is by removing the fuse from the 12v panel.

I should point out the light and display has always worked independently of the master switch. I have always had to turn it off by holding down the power button front 3 secs.

From your description so far it points to a failed control board.

These fridges do require a permanent 12v supply to power the controls.
