FRIDGE ON 12 VOLTS

I have a brand new Bailey GT60/620-6 Caravan

the fridge works fine on mains and on Gas

However I cannot seem to get it to work on 12volts am I doing something wrong the caravan is only four weeks old.

Have tried all positions battery & mains with the mains power fuses in on position and off. also tried switching of mains unit by the door all combinations but still fridge won't work in 12volts

it is going back to dealers in ten days but would like to know if it is something I am doing wrong.

the fridge light stays on in whatever position I leave the switch in gas mains or battery with or without the mains cable being attached. but as I said will not cool on 12 volts

look forward to your suggestions.

The fridge will ONLY work on 12v when the van is connected to the car, with a fully wired car socket and the engine running.

I expect your new van has a 13 pin plug, and the car a 13 pin socket.

However, if the electrics were done by the supplying car dealer, it is likely that the fridge connections from the car have not been fitted.

More information is required to give more precise answers.

it is then my mistake thanks I thought as the caravan supplier had fitted a solar panel for me my fridge would work on 12v but I was wrong thank you for clarifying

John
