Fridge problem

The wife has spilt a cup of tea on the worktop above the dometic fridge . The fridge started bleeping immediately we cleaned up the visible water around the top and fridge, however when we woke up the next morning the lights on the control panel had gone off and the fridge was not working. Tried the old turn off turn on checked the fuse board and got hairdryer on the inside of the control panel still no joy. Anything else I could try before going down the route of getting someone in and any suggestions as to what it maybe and the cost ? Cheers

Without knowing the exact knowledge of where the fluid went, it's not possible to estimate the extent of the damage. Someone might know the cost of a PCB, but you would also need to know how long it might take, which again depends on the extent of the damage.

You would best served by having the fridge inspected and the engineer can then decide what is needed and how much.

Not sure this is relevant here but after serious fires and Fire Brigade liberal water hoses we used professional cleaning companies to restore all the computers and electrical items.
The first approach was liberal application of distilled water to all surfaces and joints on the pcb. Gently agitated with fine cotton buds or similar.
Fires create some very toxic substances including cyanide all of which if left will permanently damage the appliance.

90% of the time this careful cleaning worked well including the use of an electrical contact spray which further cleansed and etched all the pcb contacts etc.

I’m not suggesting the OP take this course of action , far from it , he shouldn’t.!

The control panel is easy to remove, 3 screws, take it off and dry and clean it.
