Hi,

Trying to remove an Electrolux fridge and have taken off the gas pipe and removed the four screws inside the fridge. Tried moving the fridge but it will not budge. Has anyone any previous experience who could advise.

Rgds.

I agree up to a point about the Corgi fitter, but these days he is probably from Poland and thinks Corgi is a model car.

Have you removed the flue pipe and fittings? Remove the vents at the back and check that there are no other screws that the manufacturer saw fit to install. There should be baffle plates in there as well. It may be that you need to lower feet as it could be jammed in the housing. Do not assume the caravan manufacturer installed it correctly as 90% of the time they have not a clue. You may even find 6 inch nails holding it in.

Have a look at Dometic website and see if there are fitting instructions for your fridge.

Hello Gordon,

The gas regulations require that all installation, service, repair or removal of all gas appliances in touring caravans must be carried out by a competent person. This applies to ALL gas installations including touring caravans.

For Touring caravans, 'competent' does not have to mean Corgi, however, it does mean the person undertaking the work will have a full working knowledge of the product they are dealing with, and will work to the safety and testing requirements of the Law.

The fact that you have had to revert to asking your question on this forum suggests you do not have a full working knowledge of the appliance and the regulations, and thus I believe you may not have the relevant competencies as required by the law.

This job must be carried out by a competent fitter.
