I saw my youngest brother last weekend and he couldn't wait to show me his invitation to a Buckingham Palace garden party on his 50th birthday in July.
As the baby of our family my little brother was always bribed encouraged to do well at school and he ended up with a law degree.
He's active in his local comunity and has done charity work whilst holding down a fairly demanding job as a solicitor specialising in property law ( he completed many of the searches and land acquisitions when Birmingham City Council redeveloped the Bull Ring.)
On his 50th I shall think of him dressed up in his dove grey morning suit nibbling canapes amongst the great and the good in the company of Her Majesty but I'll always remember the six year old urchin in the plastic Batman costume whizzing around the grimy industrial terraced streets of our town on a soapbox cart that I'd made for him.
Well done our kid!!!
