All the routefinders advise going up the B4333 via Newcastle Emlyn to get to Cardigan. But it looks an easier route carrying on along the A40 and on to the A487, although it is twenty miles longer. Has anyone an opinion please i am leaning towards the long way round.
I am local to this area and to be honest I hate that journey even driving in a car!!! There are numerous routes you could take but the one that takes you on the A40 past Whitland and then right at the penblwyn roundabout and up through crymych is a better road but longer. The road is not too bad going the newcastle emlyn way just quite bendy! They are substantial roads to be honest.
Hope this helps, just out of interest where are you going in the cardigan area?
regards
sally
I too live in the area and agree with SBW, far easier towing route, the Newcastle Emlyn route is too twisty although no problem re width of road, you will love the area, have a good 'un and Bon Route
