Having just been back to the UK , +2000Mls round trip, have noticed a lot (about 30% ) of vans with these front covers, I assume they are to keep the front end clean, they seem to move about a lot when underway, wont this be rubbing on the gelcoat?, or is there another reason for them?

I have one and use it now and then. In autumn / winter conditions it keeps the mud and road dirt off the front.
It does in places cause some scuffs no matter how tight I fit it. It is a decent one.

Spring / summer don’t bother.
In fact going forward I won’t bother with it. Nothing wrong with a bucket , water and sponge , five minutes elbow grease. All clean 👏👏

Thankyou for your comments I must admit Iam in the camp of thinking it could be just a way of getting you to part with your money, as said as above I have also towed for a long time, over fifty years, at one stage averaging 25k a year never had stone chip only had one blowout, so perhaps I,am lucky, its your van and you want to protect what is a very expensive investment, I dont blame you. In the 80s I tried something similar, I could open the three front windows (Buccaneer) and then wrap cling film round them, close them and lock them tight, when on pitch open and unwrap, result nice clean windows.

You were extremely lucky as I have been told that some cling films react with the windows causing them to go cloudy.

In over 18 year caravanning, all year round , never had any stone chips to the windows or the van, enough to worry about.
Likewise. Over 45 years for us and never seen the need.
Like lots of money makinf ideas they will eventually dissappear no doubt .
When in my early days of 'vanning those ca roof aerofoils were all the rage. I can't remember the last ime i saw one now.

We bought our first front towing cover after having the front of our Lunar damaged by stone chips that councils like to put down for road users to do the job for them!

If anyone has seen the amount of muck that my Skoda Yeti shifts off the road on a wet day and up the front of the van you wouldn't want to tow without one.
It just means I don't have to spend time cleaning.
On a dry day and short Journey I often don't bother with it, down muddy lanes in the wet it's a godsend.

Just back from a weekend away.
Couple on the pitch opposite us spent a good 30 minutes washing and drying the front of their caravan prior to spending approximately a further 10 minutes making sure the cover was fitted just so.
Couldn't be bothered with all that faffing around. Arrived on site. Site van. Bucket of water and sponge for a quick wash down. SORTED!
