Front panel material

Hi I've just bought a 2001 compass rallye. Front and rear panels are oxidised quite badly. Just wondered if anyone could tell me if its abs or grp. I used to do abit of Valeting so have lots of different polishes and cleaning chemicals. I can machine polish. Got 3m perfect it range of polishes, a lot of autosmart polishes. Just wondered if anyone has had good results with any of these as I've never had to polish a caravan before. Thanks in advance

Yes - it could be either abs or grp. Try and look at the back side of the panel - maybe in the front locker. If it's smooth, it's likely to be abs however, if it's fairly rough and course, then it's grp. Since you say it's heavily oxidized, it's more likely to be grp.

We used 3M Marine Fibreglass Restorer and Wax on our previous Avondale. It certainly removed all the white powder and left a reasonably good shine using a lot of elbow grease as well. However we didn't put enough additional polish/wax on afterwards and the shine was lost after a few months.

We bought a 1L bottle and have about 2/3 left, so the 500mL bottle in the link should be plenty.
