Any ideas how to get a frozen toilet pump working again....? All the water was drained off ,but when we press the flush inside we don't get the sound of the motor whirring (if you know what I mean).

With a bit of luck it is only the fuse which has blown.
It is a 3 amp blade fuse located in the cassette compartment, depending which model toilet you have it will be either, for the C200 on the left hand side as you open the door, or if it is a C2, 3 or 4 bench toilet it will be up under the blade opening mechanism(but in this case the fuse will be a glass fuse).
If it is a C250 it will be at the back behind the cassette on the floor of the compartment.

Might not be the fuse. Could be piece of grit etc caught in the little fins on the pump. This had happened to me twice. The first time a mobile engineer was on site and he fixed it (£25). The second time I knew what to do(!!) so I fixed it myself. You get at the pump in my van (Bailey Senator) by pulling away the plate holding the flush button. It's only held in place by sealant but you will need a sharp knife or similar to start it. When the plate is off you will see four(?) screws holding a plate. When the screws are undone the plate can be moved and you can get your hand in the tank and feel for the fins at the bottom of the pump. But always check the fuse first!

Hello Denise, I posted about this last year but I hope you haven't suffered the same as I did.

It may be that although you drain off the tank, there's a plastic pipe which comes down from the pump and is then routed back up. Makes a lovely U-bend to trap water. It split my pump in half! Luckily for me my Bailey dealer changed it under warranty as I pointed out that I'd followed the stated drain-down procedures.

This year I've removed the offending pipe and will replace it in the spring as the dealer pointed out I'm now aware of the problem he won't replace it again. Personally I think it's a design flaw by the manufacturer.

Thetford's website has drawings etc of each model and also has a few fault finding hints. The last one I 'fixed' was on a 200 and the pump had failed so I cut it off and fitted a replacement using shrink tube to seal the electrical connections. If you go for the non Thetford pump (to save money!) you might have to modify the outlet pipe to fit but it only takes a few minutes. It is worth testing the pump as sometimes a piece of dowel pushed into the base and spun up with a cordless drill will sort any sticking parts and it is not as painful as it sounds!
