Last time we went into Normandy, you still could not get fuel in Caen. also we had to travel 40 to 50 miles down the new motorway. Has this changed ,they had not built any service stations
John, If you are coming off the ferry at Oustriham there is a service station which is operated by Euro banknotes, its just on the outskirts of town, on the main Caen road. Hope this helps!
On the main D515/d514 which is the main road out of the port there are two filling stations operated by ESSO plus on the city ring road there must be at least another 8 !!
Just south of the city is an Intermarche which also sells fuel and is about the cheapest.
John, i travelld from Cherbourg to le mans ona Sunday last year. At approx. 8am the BP station on the route from Caen to Bayeax was manned, as was the first one on the exit 13 peripherique south, direction Le Mans.
