Fuel Convoy

There ia at present a convoy of over 100 commercial vehicles on the M4 eastbound, just passed through Bridgend, in protest over the fuel costs. They are now advocating dropping the fuel tax and replacing it with a higher rate of VAT as they can claim the VAT back.
 
Interestingly, I gather that they are all small hauliers.

Eddie Stobart has just posted record profits.

Maybe the small companies need to rethink their business model?
 
Dont forget Eddie no longer owns it and many of his lorries are registered abroad so dont pay our level of road tax and some fill over the water

Please check out the front drivers door of a lot of their vehicles for the wording owner driver operated.

Funny how the fuel prices not hitting them quite so hard.
