Just a thought !
Have you all signed this about the price of fuel ?
We all need it to tug the van !

Dear FairFuelUK Supporter,
If you’ve already signed the petition for cheaper petrol and diesel on the Government's new ePetition site, THANK YOU so much and sorry do disturb you again. If you have not signed, it’s crucially important to sign it now athttp://bit.ly/FFUK-Gov
We need your help as never before to get the 100,000 signatures on this ePetition. We know that nearly every family and business in Britain is struggling with the high cost of fuel. However, there are only 52,000 signatures on that vital ePetition. Why? Because thousands of people simply don’t know about it! Therefore, there is a real risk that this issue could get overtaken by some of the hundreds of other issues on that website. If that happens, it will be a blow to our cause and fuel will continue to be priced high.
That’s where you can help. Please just forward this email to some of your family, family friends and contacts asking them to sign at http://bit.ly/FFUK-Govand then to pass it on. It really is as simple as that. If you feel able to pass this message on in this way, it will be a massive contribution to our cause,
kind regards,
Peter Carroll and the FairFuelUK Team

here is an observation:

If crude as dropped by about 25% and it goes down as quick as it goes up! by tomorrow we should be paying about 98p/lt.

any bets that it will happen?

Actually, they have in my local Morrisons. Diesel is 4p a litre cheaper than 2 weeks ago. I believe only about 30p is for the cost of the crude oil, the rest being refining costs, transport costs, garage’s profit and of course fuel duty & VAT. A drop in crude prices is never going to make a lot of difference to pump prices.

A rise in crude prices seems to make a big difference though as an excuse to put the price up

Through me making a right royal pain in the posteria of my self to our local MP, the same said supermarket is now subject of an Office Of Fair Trading investigation into price fixing and artificial inflation. Our local M fuel station has dropped it's fuel by 4p, although there is room to drop the price 7.5p.
We've aready debated and established that the .9p mumbo jumbo can not be stopped as the fuel pumps do state the actual price for the fuel dispenced. So don't get the tin snips out and trim the last penny

However, A**a set their prices at .7p to undercut the opposition. This only serves to demonstrate that prices can be set at what ever the retailer decides.

It is very disappointing that only 52'000 people can be bothered to put their biggest moaning point to good affect, by signing an E petition. The whole of my extended family have and that's 42 drivers who want to make a difference.

So apart from 2 mins of your time, why haven't the whole PC caravan forum signed up to it? After all when you put the caravan behind your car you use a darned sight more than 25% extra fuel.

Go on. Click sprocket's link and make your vote matter.

62,000 now.
Its not too bad at our local tesco and morrisons for fuel prices but the stores are 20+ miles from where we live. Our 'local' garage prices are around £1.45 per litre. We do our best to avoid putting a drop in there.

I think it's a very poor show considering that the first thing on most drivers mind's is the full price!
However it does show just how many millions of vehicle drivers just don't give a stuff.
The 100'000 could of been reached in under 24 Hrs if the truckers joined with every caravan tower and signed up. After all the cost of diesel is a key feature on wether or not a truck driver has a job at all.
I am always scouting for better fuel offers to run our car & van. Most individuals can't get the benefit of bulk buy fuel cards as they haven't got a registered business which uses cars & vans etc as it's prime asset. My Bro in law put's about £200 a week through our van just to go to and from site. He has to shop wisely and often uses Morrisons fuel to get the £5 voucher.

Although the barrel price is around $107 at present the pump prices are still at least 10p above the same comparative level 12 months ago. Also as always, the forecourts are slowing to snail pace again when it comes to bringing prices back down.

Of cause, quite coincidentally, the price will drop at the end of next week when the kids go back to school.

Finally. The government have moved the goal post's on the E campaigns. They have re-launched the web page and if you don't use their page your vote don't count. To me that sounds like an attempt to derail any public protest about HS2 and Fuel prices.

The oil companies will argue that they paid the high price for the oil so that they will have to wait until the lower priced oil gets refined.
Yea
Strange that when oil prices go up they don't wait until the higher priced oil gets refined before putting the price up

Were ever you go; start looking around because there is still a lot of money being spent? It may not be the majority of the populace but it’s being spent! These people are yes earning it, so they have the right but they are not helping prices by spending it and fuel is a prime example.

When we were saving for a house in the mid to late 1970’s we did some bar work. The brewery put 3p on a pint and everyone stopped buying (even those who could afford to), The brewery dropped the price rise to 1p and everyone started buying again.

The question is: how many of us would follow this example today? Answer honestly and on a postcard to……..

Looks like it would be just you and me Kelvin.

I don't know about "Broken britain" I think we have a spineless one too. ( no appology for that one)

I've lost count how many times I've suggested we do a simple traffic stop for 15 mins to highlight that we the tax paying public have had enough of fuel price increases. Even if the "wooden tops" did issue a ticket for obstruction, what's £60 to get your point put on national TV?

I did a local whistle blow on our supermarket filling station, who thought they could diddle people out of their 5p off fuel on a £40 shop.
After getting my case in the local county paper and forcing my MP to stand up for a change, our (Store name removed) store came under the watchfull eye of trading standards and the office of fair trading. Funnily enough, since that investigation they have hardly touched the fuel price and been quicker than average to drop the prices.
smiley-cool.gif

So I guess you and I kelvin, could get a result in 2 counties. All we need now is another 200 to do likewise.
smiley-laughing.gif

So I wonder just how many would actually do anything about it?
