Just been reading the news and have notice the media is reporting, about fuel shortages in France and fuel being restricted to 20 litres. Anyone over there that can confirm. ?

I think you'll find that it is transport drivers that are on strike over new labour laws introduced by Hollande. That and a few burning tyres blocking the road doesn't help.
Getting fuel out of refineries can be a little difficult in those circumstances?

It's nothing to do with the EU - this is purely a national issue with Hollande trying to change the archaic French labour laws. I seem to remember the UK has had fuel strikes in the past which, also, were nothing to do with the EU.
