My mate is selling an awning on ebay. He got a genuine enquiry as to whether the sale (for £200) included the car and caravan ! Incredible or what!!

Anyway since then, the questions have continued. Really funny and great if you can join in. It is a genuine sale, but he has a great sense of humour (as you will see from the replies)if you want to join in and ask some more questions. See the questions at the bottom of the ebay page from the following link!

Ebay, don't talk to me about bloody ebay!

We received a solicitors letter today because a bag I sold on there last week was counterfeit!. I actually bought it about a year ago, in all good faith that it was a genuine bag, and never used it once. So I decided to sell it on, never thought in a million years that it wasn't the real thing.

I've written to ebay to explain whats happened and hoping they can trace the seller I bought it off - what a pantomime!!

It can be a dodgy game for both buyers and sellers!

Sorry Valerie, crossed wired here.

We were laughing at the eBay questions on Brian's friend's listing!

Sorry you've fallen foul to a con merchant. Do think that eBay need to tighten up on those dealing in fakes but, unfortunately, innocents like yourself also get caught up in the mess. We've inadvertently bought fake stuff on there before. Last thing was an Element skateboarding T-shirt for my son. As soon as it arrived it was clearly a fake so I e-mailed the seller and threatened to report them to eBay. They instantly offered a full refund and allowed us to keep the T-shirt but it still leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. Son was bitterly disappointed and will only wear the shirt in bed as he is embarrassed to wear a fake in public - not good for the street cred!

It was in the papers last week that E-bay have been fined 30 million pounds for allowing counterfeit goods to be sold on the site so they have clamped down on anything that they consider to be dodgy.

I recently had an advert removed by them for simply describing it as "allmost new" which they said was spamming the title to make my item more attractive to buyers ? beats me.

Hopefully your letter will be one of the many warnings they have sent out and that will be the end of the matter.

that's interesting, I didn't see that.

My letter was actually from a solicitor, not ebay themselves. I have since learned that ebay only keep their archive information for 90 days so I've no way of tracing who I bought the bag off in the first place. Never mind, lesson learned, won't be using it again I'm afraid.
