I've towed with a manual Galaxy for 6 years and am now considering changing to a newer model. Has anybody any thoughts or comments on whether I should opt for an automatic or stick with a manual gearbox? All help most gratefully received.
i have towed a coachman laser which weighed 1650 kgs fully laden with absolutely no problems with my galaxy tdi 130 which has the six speed manual box. i have never towed with a galaxy auto but i do know of one that was on rent to the company i work for, we used it as a staff bus whilst our usuall one was off the road it was running 24 hours a day continually around manchester and lasted about 4 weeks about 8000 miles before the gearbox overheated one day and was as the hire company said totally knackered. i would stear clear and stick with the manual, its a cracker.
