Hi, we have a Camping Group Automatic Change-over Type 924C for our gas but I wasn't given any instructions from the service centre that fitted it and they have now closed down.
I am slightly confused on how to operate this system and all I have managed to pull off the Camping Group web site is:
"The automatic changeover ensures continuous gas flow, automatically changing
the gas withdrawal from the exhausted "service" cylinder to the full "reserve" one.
The full-empty indicator assembled into the changeover handle indicates the exhaustion status of the "service" cylinder. The indicator colour changes from green to red, when the "service" cylinder is exhausted. The rotation of the automatic changeover handle to the full "reserve" cylinder restores the green colour on the indicator."
I have now worked out from this that the outer cream coloured collar rotates aprox 180 degrees so I assume that this should be pointing at the whip for the cylinder I want to use up first? The clear plastic window and "propeller" indicator) fell out the first time I tried this!
However, what happens once this "service" cylinder is empty i.e. does the system then automatically switch to the 2nd "reserve" cylinder or do I have to rotate the outer collar to point at the 2nd "reserve" cylinder?
What I think happens from my experience so far, but I have only just learned that the outer collar rotates, is that it will automatically change over. However, I am guessing that if I change the first "service" cylinder and don't rotate the outer collar then when the new replacement cylinder is attached the system will switch to this new cylinder placing the older cylinder back into reserve but with a reduced quantity of gas. If this is the case, I presume that it is therefore best practice when changing the empty cylinder to rotate the outer collar to the cylinder that will remain so that the new full cylinder will become the "reserve"?
Please could someone either confirm the above or put me right on how the change over works and how I should be using it.
