Gas bottle weight

In order to calculate the noseweight of my van I weighed a nearly full 7 kg Calor gas bottle on the bathroom scales. It weighed 14.5kg.

Does anyone know what the "7kg" refers to?

I think this may be something to bear in mind as folk might, as I did, assume that "7Kg" refers to the weight of the bottle.

Yep, it is the weight of the gas filled into the bottle.

Rather than calculate, you can buy a reasonably accurate (3% normally) nose weight gauge for around
