Gas oven cutting out

Having a few problems with our gas oven cutting out in our van. This only happens when the oven is newly switched on and can be remedied by keeping the door open slightly to allow air in so therefore appears to be an oxygen starvation. Close the door too early and the flame just dies! However once up to speed and fully warmed the problem disappears and the door can be left fully closed as it is meant to be. I have cleared the space below ensuring the vent is totally unrestricted but still as above, flame dies and goes out. Could it be something to do with the door seal itself? The van is under warranty and will be putting it to the dealer but as away for a couple of days at the moment (in wet and windy Grantown on Spey!) would appreciate comment. I assume it is safe to continue using under strict supervision and extraction for fumes.

Thanks

Graeme

Graeme,

I think it should be safe to continue to use it especially if you are keeping the level of ventilation high. In practice it should be no worse that the g rings or grill.

But the problem has been previously reported, and as I recall there is a fix for it, so bring it to the attention of your dealer and instruct them to sort it out.

As it is gas appliance, there is no simple DIY fix.

Had a similar problem with our spiniflo. Dealer did something that cured it- i suspect he replaced the burner and thermo-couple.
