I have a Swift Challenger 530 2000 model. Due to problems with the butane gas freezing this winter,I want to change to propane to avoid this problem in future. The butane regulator has an operating pressure of 28mmb but the only propane regulators that I have seen operate at 37mmb.Is this suitable for use on my van?

Butane is regulated to 28 mbar, propane to 37 mbar. That's fixed, not something you can choose. The gas equipment in caravans is designed to work with a range of different pressures. Just get a propane cylinder and the appropriate regulator and all the appliances should work normally.

When fixed regulators came in in 2001, an in-between pressure was chosen, to allow use of both butane and propane but no changes were made to the appliances themselves.

Many thanks for the information, I was not sure as the difference in pressures seems quite high and I am old enough to remeber the carnage caused by using unsuitable appliances when we changed to natural gas from coal gas in the 60's
