gas

Hello Peter,

I am absolutely certain that you can purchase LPG in the Netherlands. I am also fairly certain that Camping Gaz woudl be available, and you can certainly get a regulator for that make.

It rather depends on the age of your caravan, as to the type of connection your will need.

As you mention getting a regulator, I assume that you normally fix a regulator to the bottle, which means your caravan will need either Butane at 28mB or Propane at 37mB. as Camping Gaz is only Butane, you will need to get a Camping Gaz 28mB regulator.

If your caravan has the regulator fixed to the bulkhead, and the connetion to teh gas bottles is through short flexible pipe (Pigtail) then all you will need to do is get a pigtail for the Dutch type gas bottles, as your exsisting regulator is designed for al commercial LPG types.

am at delftse hout at the moment, will have a look in the shop tomorrow, they have a gas lockup, will see if i can get a price on a cylinder

John, run that bit about the regulator past me again. Are you saying that if i have a regulator fixed to the bulkhead, (which we have)then I can swap between propane and butane without any issues? I am not questioning the validity of your statement, I have no technical knowledge, I am checking I understand you correctly

thanks

mel

Hi folks, Do we know what size of threads etc. are req'd on the bottle end of the"pigtail" .Can you just screw into the connection on the bottle? Cheers Graham

have a shufti at the Gaslow website - it's got piccys of all the adapters and the pigtails etc. The pigtails for Calor propane or butane tend to be dedicated to the cylinder, but you can get a pigtail with a standard 20mm thread which fits the various adaptors to suit the different cylinders that abound on the continent (and the UK)

Deli Dave,

Have you tried the supermarkets. They usually sell the 907 cylinders at much lower prices. Last year it was _22 in Intermarche in Fance.

Peter

Out of curiosity why would you need to buy, other than Camping Gaz, a gas cylinder whilst in Holland? We take two full 6kgs cylinders with us and after 6/8 weeks its unusually to have completely used one.

thank you for your reply I only wondered if you could buy their own gas as when I go to france i purchase one of their 10kg lightweight bottles from their petral stations on their supermarkets (not the supermarket) and did not know whether this was possible in Holland.
