I can't be 100% certain Gooner but it's my guess that after your joke was posted the topic degenerated into some sort of political thread. If that's the case then the entire thread may have been removed, not because of the joke but maybe the title invited inappropriate comments.
 
Aah I understand now Parky (mod) thought there'd been a complete 'sense of humour loss' by the mods on this one but I've seen some of the 'looneys' and their scribblings on this sort of topic before so maybe you're right!

Now now LB behave yourself, it's not me it's the others this time!!!! HaHa!

If the joke was the one about voting for the volcano party I thought that it was funny, or at least ironic but it was me who took that one off I'm afraid.

Immigration is a very emotive subject, many of us hold very strong opinions about it but this forum isn't the most appropriate platform to host discussions of this nature.

The moderators do not have the necessary software available to ensure that heavy political discussions can take place, our remit is to foster the exchange of information about leisure caravan use and unfortunately even innocuous jokes have a habit of attracting some extreme views which cannot be aired on this forum.

Sorry about your joke if it was the one that I took down, when others started to post serious comments later I was left with no other choice.
 
Thanks for the explanation Parky, appreciated, for what it's worth.

It's a pity however, that some people can't appreciate a joke for what it is - 'JUST A JOKE'- and not get too serious about the subject.

I accept your reason for removal although I don't necessarily agree with it, but I also realise that you & all the other mods do have a difficult job to do under quite restrictive boundaries.

Thanks for being so understanding Gooner. I should add that there was nothing wrong with the joke at all, it was the later more serious comments which caused the deletion.
