GIF's Clarification.

Can we have some kind of clarification on the GIFs
Are we allowed to use them or not?
It was suggested you cannot use large Gifs if I read it right.
How do you determine a large Gif?

If I read Parksy's missive correctly it would be alright to use GIFs if everyone else didn't use them in their 'quotes' when replying to the person they intend to.
When people reply to a post using the 'Quote' button they should really edit the quote by deleting anything that's not relevant and that usually means the GIF.
When a lot of people reply using the 'Quote' button and leave the GIF in situ needlessly it makes it hard on the eyes especially if the GIF is large and probably slows the website or page from loading.
It's not just GIFs though. When people want to make a point about someone elses comment they quote the whole post instead of editing it and leaving the part they are referring to.

Thanks Lord B, you have summed up the situation exactly.
Reasonably sized gif's are ok, gifs and photographs which cause distortion of the normal forum page, create difficulty for members to read normal postings or change the shape of the borders are too big and in future will be deleted. Photographs, pictures and gif's must be able to fit inside a normal comment box. Multiple copies of the same picture will be deleted as will quotes containing the same gif's or pictures as the original.
If by allowing gifs to be used people ignore the requirements and I end up having to spend time dealing with complaints about too many gif's or pictures being too big because the originator couldn't be bothered to resize them as has been happening recently, or editing quotes to remove pictures already posted then I will contact admin to have a firm ruling to ban gif's added to forum etiquette.
