Duke of York at Pomeroy. 27 hard standings and 16A hook up. Nice views. Next to the pub so booked a meal there; but also on the main A515. There is road noise + but we knew that and not a problem for us. Chose it as Wanted proximity to Buxton. Would have gone to Clover Fields but not open all year, this year at least ( used to be).
Mel
Ah yes, I know the site, I looked at it for a Woosie fest. There is another one aross the road about 1/2 a mile further towards Buxton. .

Looked at that one, Pomeroy Caravan Site. Has fully serviced pitches and is further back from the road; closed from 1st November though.
There don’t seem to be many open all year sites close to Buxton. This one does the job though.

When we stopped in by there for a lunch one day, the waitress /barmaid was having a bad day, so our experience wasn't good. I liked the site, I think it only had about 15 pitches then. Enjoy.

Well, we have just got back from a lovely weekend break. Site was very quiet indeed.
We are thinking of the next weekend away, going to be in ‘love 2 stay’ Shrewsbury. We have a weekends worth of credit to use due to various Covid cancellations.
Next break is a week away in a lodge on the beach at Harlech, end of this month.

Managed to get down to storage today(yesterday turned out to be rather drizzly).
Was fearing the worst as I opened the caravan door.
Absolutely bone dry😊 .
Anyway, opened up every window, door, roof lights and side lockers.
Cleaned all the mould around the window rubbers and a coat of silicon after.Same with the main door and lockers.
Fitted Milenco Wraith wheel lock and rear led indicator lenses.
Spent about 5 hours down there and enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Should be ok now for a few weeks.👍20211107_101329.jpg20211107_102802.jpg

Ahah, you are up near Flagg. Havent been in the Duke for many many years, the landlord back then was a real Basil Fawlty character, looks to have been tarted up quite a bit since then.

Hi Ade We past Eastnor Castle on way to Ledbury wonderful market place a lovely day out and on way back stop on the common my wife took the dogs for walk so far having a great holiday :)
It is market day in Tewkesbury on Wednesday and it is a big market in comparison to the one in Ledbury. Well worth the trip. On the way back stop at Lower Lode pub for lunch as it is right on the River Severn with fantastic views.

Go into the Old Anchor as they serve an excellent meal there at a reasonable price. Avoid Star as toilets upstairs and also Kings Arms which has now lost all its charcter.
