the services at stirling are 2pence dearer than the surrounding garagesHi Dennis
Depends on day and time. If you are approaching this area around 3pm onwards the m8 over to the Forth Bridge is virtually a 50-60mph tailback all the way (weekdays) going the Stirling route is pretty much the same from Cumbernauld to Stirling.
The pluses for the M8 are no tolls on the bridge now. You will have the privildge of driving through the Kingdom of Fife and as you come off the M90 at the Friarton bridgethis road will take you straight up to Scoone.
Going the other way is probally a little more scenic but I would doubt if there is more than 5 - 10 minutes either way.
Ps if you go by Stirling don't be tempted to fill up at the services as they are normally really dear there.
Hi Dennis,Would agree 100% with Earlybird, we do this route often and it's the only way I would consider.
