Goodbye to a Friend

The time has come to say goodbye

The man in charge of our relationship has ordered me to undergo a test every year from now on for us to be allowed to continue.
We have been together now for nearly 40 years and travelled millions of miles together but all good things must come to an end.
I am very sorry to have let you down on that one occasion, but we paid the price with no long term effects.
Our time together was closely monitored by the man in charge, he could of separated us at any time but he saw fit not to.
We have witnessed a lot together, some very bad scenes indeed but there has been laughter along the way.
I will still be able to get out on the road with the caravan and pretend you are still around ,but it will not be the same.

Time waits for no man and the consensus now is for us to voluntarily go our separate ways.

A sad day is looming..........I am sorry to see you go

.....the friend in question was my Large Goods Vehicle License which up to earlier on this month I had held for many years.

Now I am 65 I know I will definitely not need it again........ so far to expensive to have a medical and renew every year.

As i am coming up to 50 you will know that i will be in need of a medical. my own gp charges £186! but 25 miles up the road in derby we can get a medical for £30 across leicester near to blaby i believe there is a gp who charges £35...piont is like everything in life one might find shopping around well worth it......

In Coalville there's one who charges £50 and just 3miles away (in the village that I live in) another charges £75. They are very inconsistant to say the least. I let my class 1 lapse just before christmas. I couldn't see the point in me keeping it as I very much doubt me ever driving a bendy again.
