Greasing the corner steadies

Hi all

What grease is best for the corner steady winding threads? Starting on those winter maintenance jobs early this year!

Don't know what is best, but I have used copper slip for year's without any problems i clean the old stuff off with brake cleaner & then put a liberal amount on & then send it up and down a few times to coat the thread ...
Some of the thicker types of grease tend to hold a lot of grit....

Motorcycle chain lube is ideal, it does not attract dirt and is not easily washed off by roadspray.
