This is one reply from another forum:

After visiting the Western Peloponnese in Greece last year, I was amazed at how many English campers and caravaners we came across - we were there for several months and we only meet TWO couples in their motorhomes. This is such a lovely unspoiled area of Greece taking around 3 days to get there - no lould music or nightclubs and to top it all 60 kl of glourious beaches. We loved it that much we have now brought a piece of land that we are turning into a rest area. We will be charging around 10E a night which is about

Having visted the country on package holidays it has always been an ambition of mine to do the same as mentioned. However, all the articles I have read on the subject were related to travelling in a motrhome, not a caravan and it was a concern that towing may not be the best way to see the country. Not to jump threads again , it was part of my thinking about swopping to a motorhome, but I haven't domne it yet.

If someone has done it with car and van I would be very interested in hearing how they got on.

I agree that if you have the time then go further afield, France is nice but..... what is round the next corner???

We left Britain two years ago and, among other countries, have visited Greece, going from Brindisi to Igoumenitsa on the overnight ferry. Cannot recomend it too highly, you will have a wonderful time, and wonder why you didn't do it before.

We now have a caravan park in southern Bulgaria, near the Greek and Turkish borders, so come and stay with us as well. For more info look at our website www.sakar-hills.com

All the best,

Martin & Shirley Jeffes.
