green light on battery

I have a new Dynamic battery which has a green florescent light showing. Not had a battery with a light before
Does it mean the battery is charged and does the light change colour when it needs charging ?

Hi yes generally the green light means the battery is charged, my battery light goes black when it requires a charge.

however the green light it is only an indication and its always advisable to actually take a meter reading the a volt meter to give an exact measure of the batteries charge.

The green indicator is actually pretty useless as it only "samples" one cell of the whole battery, and if the liquid level drops, or that cell is overfilled, it becomes totally useless.
It is not a "light" as such, it is a clear window which uses refracted light to give an indication by interaction of the light particles and the chemical particles inside the battery.
(It was all explained to me once upon a time but became far too complicated)
Easiest and best way is a mulitimeter.
