My bbq skills not upto much-thinking of George foreman type electric grill/griddle as an alternative, can use exterior plug and cook outside-avoiding filling van with cooking smells etc.

Any comments?

Good ones/Bad ones?

Wondering if power demand will be too high?

We use george foreman outside or in awning. Power supply is fine, I usually switch something off inside whilst using it. The only pain with a george foreman is cleaning it. But then I suppose it's better than cleaning the caravan grill and smelling like a burnt sausage for the duration of the holidays.

I'm considering a cadac as it has all the different cooking surfaces and it could be easier to clean etc.

Thats my views on it and I'm sure there's more to come, good luck, Dan.

Whatever type you go for make sure it is placed on a large/deep enough tray to catch any fat. Stating the obvious I know but . . .. been there, done that etc.

We use the large george foreman grill with its own stand. We have had it five years & use it in the awning if raining.I always clean it with the grill warm with a washing up brush & hot soapy water. Apart from our caravans it has been our best buy.

We use a George Foreman both in the van or awning depending on our set up and never have any probs with the electrics even without turning other items off Did notice that some other manufacturers models have much higher wattage than the Foreman though

We used to have an older version of the grill but have now replaced it withy the one with removable plates and would definitely say go for the extra cost and get one of those, they are so easy to clean

Thanks for all your helpful comments-especially the beer can tip!

What size do you use?

10 portion seems a bit OTT,but is 5/6 portion big enough to use or do you have to cook in relays?

thanks

Hi, we prefer to use a Cadac as you don't need electric! (but do need a gas bottle).

Cooks superbly as a fryin pan and as a riddle.

If you get the Paella dish it makes a great paella burner!

Cheers
