For those who have been reading various threads about this site, I have today received the definitive answer fom the CC.

The site was only leasehold from the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and the lease has expired. YAS have chosen not to permit renewal of the lease as they wish to develop the land for other purposes, so the site has now closed permanently.

The site could not be removed from the CC web site for technical reasons, but since the web site was revamped and relaunched earlier this week the site is now no more.
