The cooker in my daughter's caravan is in desterate need of a repaint. I have purchased some hammerite paint but it does not say if it is suitable for cookers. Has anyone got any advise please.
I don't think hammerite is a good choice. You'd be better with radiator enamel that can be bought from diy shops. Even this wont stand really high temps but should be ok just for the door or surround. Which bits are you thinking of painting?
Hammerite paint also has a tendancy to stink to high heaven at high temperature - it is a great protective paint for metals but I would not thought it would be suitable for high temperature work.
Some DIY stores do a High Temperature paint, this is presumeably for items that get hotter than a household radiator. Car shops may do a paint for customising exhaust manifolds,
