Hartal Door Rubbish Bins

Both I and my aunt have suffered failures of the "rope" like structure that supports the top of the waste bag and clips onto the front of the bin .

So far we have been quoted approx £35 for a new bin. It seems the individual parts are not available.IMO the part we need shouldn't cost more than a couple of quid.

I've posted on Swift Talk but wondered if any one has any ideas on sourcing the part or even repairing it?

Cheers

hi DD

I dont know much about the hartal bin cant say I have seen one but; the motorhome had a cascade one (I think that was what it was called) that comprised of a plastic D shaped rim with lid that a bag was supended from held in place by a elastic band that perished and stretched this band I replaced with strong elastic from a habadashery and worked perfectly.

hope this helps

Crikey Sproket,

Spot on. This is the 3kg bin fitted to most of the newish hartal doors.

Why plastic is so expensive beats me. But then there is the design etc.
