Hartal lock

Can anyone explain to me what is the significance of the red and green screw covers on the inside of the Hartal lock? Do some types house a light of some sort? And also, the Safety and Security benefits of 'car style flipper key'? Mine only dents the van side if the door is locked back or blown back.

The significance of the coloured screw covers is to give an indication that the door is locked or not.

If the internal handle is pointing at the red, its locked, if its pointing at green, its unlocked,,,,,,,,unless someone has put them back in the opposite order.

I usually look at the handle. If it's sloping up then the door is locked. If it's pointing hoizontal then the door is not locked. Who need coloured dots to reassure them?
