have you been down the A30 lately

hi,just wondered if anyone had been down the A30 lately.last year we got just past bodmin and stopped,a 8 hour journey took 13.5,and we are going again in a couple of weeks to perranporth,so were wondering if all the roadworks have been finished yet, look forward to your replies, adrian

The dual carriageway is now in use, so the bridge on Goss Moor is no longer a challenge!!

There are sometimes queues, but that have moved further West - should be an improvement for you - unless flooded 🙁

We went down last half term and the traffic was as bad as last year, however I do seem to remember a notice saying that work was due for completion before the school holidays.

I know this is totally obvious, but if you avoid Saturdays you avoid most of the problems. Last time we were in Cornwall we'd listen to the local travel news every Saturday. Long tailbacks A30 Indian Queens ... they should have just put on a recording. Probably did.

I drive a lorry from Cullomtpon in devon and regually go to Penzance in Cornwall. Since the road has opened fully it has taken around 20 mins off journey each way, which is a big saving.

Not been down on a saturday yet but would persume that it will be ok now.

Just came back yesterday from a fortnight at the CC site at Treamble (near Perranporth). Experienced no real drama's on the A30. Drove down through the night; 8hrs 30 mins, drove back through the day 9hrs. The trip was 368 miles each way, but we stopped 3 times for a break.

Good luck!

Regards, Mike

I too was at Treamble last and this week, we departed on Tuesday.

Where were you sited, maybe we passed each other during the routine water trips?

Or maybe if you had brats, then mine and yours might have been short term mates.

I was sited at pitch 44, at the bottom and directly alongside of the paved drive (Silver VW Sharan and Coachman AMARA).

I was on pitch 105, adjacent to the shower block (Black Nissan X-trail/Avondale Rialto).

No brats, enough with the wife and dog!

Hope you enjoyed your stay as much as i did.

Regards, Mike
