head gasket on freelander

hi all

can any one out there give me a guide to how much its going to cost my son to have the head gasket changed on his freelander V plated we are going away in three wks time and this was a cost we could do without .Any ideas from you on the likely cost would be much appreciated

I think it's variable, depending on whether the head has warped from excess heat. An increasing number of K-series engined vehicles are being scrapped just because the cost of these sort of repairs can exceed the vehicle's value.

Really sorry to hear of your son's head gasket failure. I too had a Freelander a few years back and the head gasket went and made a bit of a mess of the engine. I was a bit shocked as it only had 35K miles on the clock.

It was still under warranty so I took it to Landrover to get the repair done. The total cost from Landrover was
