Should I have to live with the problem?
We have two Heki 2 rooflights in our one year old caravan. Within a short time of purchase it was noticed that dirt such as leaves, twigs, soot from fires, etc has been getting through one of the rooflights, the rear one over the bed, leaving dirt on the fixed bed. The problem occurs when the rooflight is shut and securely locked, and happens whether the caravan is stationery or moving. We informed our dealer in letter form of the problem, and were basically informed that we would have to live with it as there was nothing they could do to prevent the occurrence. The Customer Service section of the caravan manufacturer has twice informed us that this should not happen. But nobody seems to be able to suggest how to overcome the problem.
Why does it only happen on the rear rooflight, the one on the flat roof area?
We know that we can prevent some of the problem by leaving the net blind in place, but this lets the debris get on top of the net and it is then difficult to clean off. However even with the net blind in position, the debris has still managed to get into the caravan.
Are we the only one with this problem? Both my dealer and caravan manufacturer tell me that they have not been informed of this problem before.
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
