Heki Rooflights - Dirty sealant

I was out cleaning the caravan at the weekend, and gave the roof a once-over as it was looking grubby. However, I can't seem to clear out the leaves and other crap which has accumulated under the Hekis on what I assume is non-setting sealant around the frames. Is it possible to clean this?

Another related annoyance is all the detritus that falls onto my fixed bed through the Mini-Heki over it. I am seriously tempted to fit the rubber seal for non-forced ventilation versions.

Ha , I've only just been up on mine this morning not on literaly but up there cleaning the roof and picking all the leaves and things out from the edge of the roof widows but you can't get your fingers right in to get some of the crap out like the small bathroom one that we have as soon as you let the mesh down inside the bathroom all the crap falls in , bit off poor design .

A mini pick tool set can be handy for cleaning out hard to reach places.

Plenty to choose from.

e.g. Item number on ebay:

Thanks for that. I'm looking to clean the sealant. As you can see it's gone black.

Hi CA,

Would it be worth trying a bleachwater solution to the sealant, the 'black' is usually a fungal residue, I have succesfully removed such 'black' material in the past using bleach.
