Afternoon folks

Totally newbie busy on the hunt to learn all the information for buying out first caravan and appropriate towing car. Currently have the use of a relatives motorhome but think a caravan would be more practical. So maybe as late as the beginning of next year for the eventual purchase.

Anyway any questions please feel free to ask.

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum and website where you will find lots of information on touring caravans complete with reviews.
Click Here to have a browse through Practical Caravan expert Andrew Jenkinson's Used Caravan Buyers Guide if you were considering a pre-owned model to start off with.
This will help you to avoid most of the common pitfalls when buying a tourer and if there's anything you want to know, just ask :)

Welcome Dave – to the Practical Caravan forum and to the world of caravanning! It looks like you've received a very warm welcome, which is wonderful. :)

I see you've already been pointed in the direction of some sage advice which is great – and don't be afraid to ask questions on here! We've got a video here on our YouTube channel where caravan expert John Wickersham takes us through his pointers to consider when buying a second hand caravan.

We've plenty of tow car advice, too. There are lots of video reviews also on our YouTube channel and with the announcement of our 2014 Tow Car Awards winners not too far away, there will be plenty more on this topic in the magazine and online in the not too distant future, including general tow car/towing/outfit matching advice.

And as the others have said, if all else fails, just ask!

Thanks for the welcome. Been a busy few days.At the moment we have a 56plate astra 1.8sri. 5 door. No good as a tow car. Although I quite fancy a Vauxhall Insignia Sri 2.0cdti.

Think we need a fixed a bed and not to concerned about a shower. But not massively aure to be honest. Obviously has to be at least 4berth.
