Hello Everyone! :-)

Hi there everyone, im new to caravaning, well i say new, ive not even bought a caravan yet! (next month)
Im gonna start off with a budget 4 berth van (prob up to £2k) and see how it goes!

Im driving a new Chevrolet Orlando, 2.0 VCDI 160 Auto, and had my towbar fitted last week.
Had a tug of my dads caravan (1250kg) at weekend and quite suprised how well the chevy pulls! and Im even happier that it has just won one of the TowCar awards!
Heres to many years happy caravaning for me and my family! (hopefully!!!)

Hi Blackpoolmick, Welcome to the Practical Caravan forum which is exactly the right place for you to find out what you need to know and avoid possibly expensive mistakes when starting out.
I'm sure that your Dad will be able to point you in the right direction when it comes to buying your first caravan but have a good look at
This Guide
which was written by experts and will show the most obvious pitfalls when buying your first caravan. There are some nice well looked after caravans within your budget but unfortunately there are also a lot of sheds waiting for the unwary so it's well worth doing a bit of research before parting with any cash. If there's anything that we can help you with please don't hesitate to ask and I'll join you in wishing you many happy years of caravanning and hopefully forum membership

Hi Blackpool Mick,
I write this on another of our jaunts in the West Country.
The Caravan is a way of life and a real great one for children tolearn about real life , not all this computer stuff.
Keep us posted on all your travels.

Hi Welcome to the forum. Hope you find a good van. Watch out for the dreaded damp and remember that age is less important than condition.
