Hello everyone,
Just wanted to say Hi as I have just joined this forum.
Hubby and I are soon to be the proud owners of a caravan and we have never caravanned before so hoping to find lots of tips and advice to get us started !!!!
Fortunately some of my family are seasoned 'vanners so I'm sure they will help us too but very excited to get our van and get off on some adventures.
We have a steep learning curve ahead :)

Welcome to the forum, its comforting to know that we wont be the only family entertaining the sites this year. But at least you have some "Pro vanners" to help you get started.

Hi Lynnybobs, welcome to Practical Caravan's forum and many thanks for posting. I hope you and your husband enjoy discovering caravanning. There's plenty of advice both here on the forum and on the website in general – and feel free to ask any questions!

Hi everyone,
thank you for such a warm welcome to the forum!
Looking forward to visiting the camping and caravan show at the NEC later this month to buy some bits and bobs for our van.
Can't wait to start our adventures and share some stories with you all !

Ha ha, we have only had our c-van since September and have amused more than a few folk with our utter incompetence since then. First time out it took me over an hour to hitch the van back onto the car when it was time to leave… and this was straight after explaining to out tenting neighbour that we finally opted to buy a caravan because it was easier than packing up a wet tent… yes they had packed up and gone long before I manage to hitch up. As it turns out, as I found out here, having a rear mounted spare wheel isn’t conducive to easy hitching with an ALKO type hitchy thing and there is a kit available that I didn’t have at the time.

Hi Linnybobs
A warm welcome to the forum.
Never be scared to ask anything no matter how silly it may seem. We are all here to help one another. Good luck and pleasant times with your new venture. :)
