Hello from west yorkshire

Hello
I'm Helen and I live in West Yorkshire with my husband and our 4 children. We're planning to buy a caravan so I thought i'd register here and pick up some tips.

Hello Helen, welcome to the Practical Caravan forum. You've come to the right place to pick up ideas, tips and advice about buying and owning your first caravan.
The Camping & Caravanning Club provide some basic information about driving licence requirements, towing weights and what you can safely and legally tow Click Here to see the info.
You will need to decide on what layout you want, how much money to spend and who to buy from and to avoid the more common pitfalls the Caravan Buyers Guide is worth looking at because it deals with all aspects of caravan buying.
Enjoy looking for your caravan and if you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Helen welcome to the practical caravan forum look on E-bay Preloved , Gumtree. and do not forget Caravanfinder when you are looking for your caravan.

Hi Helen, welcome, when looking for your van take your time and dont fall in love with the first one you see!!!
May be worth investing in something like this they are not 100% but give you a pretty good idea.

Hi Helen and welcome to theforum good advise has been given here so far, but may I be bold enough to say try and do you deal with a dealer ,there have been some purchases made on Ebay and Gumtree that havnt been quite up to standard.
Also if you go to a dealer you can go for the throat and get most of the things thrown in free ready for your first trip away, and its great fun setting up your van.
Good luck
Sir Roger
