Hi and thank you Beachball and also Mr moderator for the advice..Seems i have a prob on my laptop so using my wifes to do this..
So here i am finally to say hi to you all out there in Caravan land and to tell a little about myself.. Im not exactly new to caravanning having started some 40 yrs ago at age 21 with my first outfit, VW Beetle 1300/Thompson Mini-glen, folowed by a succession of tow cars to include Rover 2000, several model Rover V8's, about five Range Rovers and a couple of BMW 7 Series to name but a few, towing tourers from A-Line, Ace, Avondale and lastly a couple of Carlights...
In the ensuing years my children became adults and provided the obligatory Grandchildren etc and i had a few years off from the caravanning due to my then wifes lack of interest..
Fast forward to 2011, i remarried following divorce and my new wife expressed a desire to go caravanning...Something she had never done..We talked about it but then did no more... A few weeks ago it reared its head again and after a small amount of persuasion i agreed to give it a go...I decided to ease into it with an inexpensive caravan just to be sure the wife would take to it and after spending last saturday installing the towbar and electrics onto our Nissan Juke Tekna 1.6 Auto we drove some 80 miles to collect the new aquisition....We drove back with Elddis Whirlwind XL on the hook, no problems encountered and the car handled it admirably..,
The caravan although somewhat elderly is in immaculate condition having had very limited use by its 80 year old former owner and his wife and has spent most of it years under cover...Fully equipped with all the little luxuries and including a near new and very large Awning it was a great buy at not a lot of money and the wife is over the moon.....I will keep you updated on how things go and im thinking it wont be too long before were in the market for something a good deal newer.......LOL
