Hello. We are very new to all things caravan and really looking forward to going on trips away with our lovely 4 berth Elddis firestorm 520/4 1999. We have all the documents for the appliances etc and spent most of today trying to figure out how everything works, want to do this before we look like complete novices on a site!! The display however inside is really confusing us, it is a carver cascade rapide and has lights switches, pump etc and fused switches which we don't know what they are all for?? We obviously know the lights and pump but it's all the others that are confusing us. Is anyone familiar with this layout? I wanted to upload the photo I took today but I can't see how to do this on here? Any help, tips would be great fully appreciated. Thank you.

The Carver Cascade Rapide is your storage water heater. As supplied it would have had a separate Carver control switch, but some manufacturers integrated some appliance controls into a dedicated unit for their own Caravans. So a picture would be helpful.

Check on

http://www.arcsystems.biz/manuals/Cascade2.PDF
which will give you the basic operating instructions and principles for the Cascade.

Thank you. I am sure there will be quite a few stories from our travels most of which we will laugh about for years to come. We too have a dog and that is the reason for purchasing the caravan, the things you do for our pooches. Thank you again.

Thank you for the link. The instruction booklet is what we have but it's the other switches etc that we are confused with. I will try to set up a photo bucket account and hopefully upload a photo of what I mean. Thank you again

If the other switches are labeled then details should be enough. If not it might be possible to see what they switch on and off by trial and error.
