Hi all, like most others in this section I'm totally new to caravanning and am looking to buy my first van and because I think I've found one to buy privately I won't be getting the starter demo from a dealer (something I really need!)so I'll have a lot of basic questions I'm sure.

Have a look at the Towing Law section which includes towing weight advice and driving licence requirements to ensure that you can tow your chosen caravan legally and safely.
