Hello.

Just wanted to say a quick 'Hi'.

I'm no expert when it comes to caravans but I'm very interested and hoping to learn more. I thought long and hard about getting a motorhome, and I'm a bit more into caravans by now.

Hopefully I can learn from all of you here.

Jeff

You didn't say if you've bought a caravan yet but if you haven't Click Here for the Caravan Buyers Guide which contains some good tips on what to look for in order to avoid the most obvious pitfalls when buying a tourer.

Hi jeff welcome to the forum. Let us know how you get on in your caravan hunting. Nec show always worth a browse even if you are not going to buy new. Gives you an idea of all the possiilities.

Welcome to the forum, Jeff.
One consideration of getting a caravan, as opposed to a motorhome is that if you want to go off exploring, you just jump in the car and off you go. With a motorhome, everything loose on surfaces has to be put away each time and the whole kaboodle has to be transported around wherever you decide to go.
Happy & safe caravanning to you

Firstly hi to Jeff...Yes to Meals On Wheels comments, i totally agree with the points made re Motorhome vs Caravan...I always held this view, having to leave your pitch and drive around in something the size of a commercial vehicle everytime you wanted to leave site seemed to me to be hard work..Ive noticed theres an increase in people with Motorhomes towing small trailers with a SmartCar on board....Surely if your going to tow anyway why not tow a Caravan, park it up and explore from the comfort of your own vehicle?? makes sense to me, For sure Smart Car fuel consumptions great but hardly any use for a family.....Also the larger Motorhomes will bring the added problems with parking etc.. Also its another vehicle to tax and insure etc...Im sure theres Motorhome owners out there that will hold valid reasons for their choice over a touring caravan but for me a tourer wins hands down....
