Hello

Hi - our first van was a Swift Corvette 4 berth with no hot water! we had some great times on holiday with the children. We swapped this for a brand new Sterling Europa 520 end wash room from the Caravan Show and again had many a wonderful holidays. One memorable one was in France.

On the way back to the ferry the car (BMW) broke down. After several visits to the French garages it could not be fixed, luckily we had taken out travel insurance. The towtruck took us to a local French campsite next to Roscoff, where we stayed for 2 days whilst waiting for the return ferry. It was quite scary watching the car and caravan being literally pushed onto the ferry at the last minute but we made it back to Plymouth were a tow truck was waiting to take us home.

The travel insurance, whilst everybody moans about paying it, really did help us in getting back home.

We then took a break from caravanning as the children were too old to come with us and we had a few camping trips with our 2 dogs. After a disastrous rainy week in Dorset we decided to buy another caravan.

We bought a Lunar XL 2000 2 berth for less than £2,000 and we have just swapped this for a Lunar Ultima fixed bed , end wash room - oh what luxury! in not having to make and put the beds away each day.

Hi jfinch, welcome to the forum , nice to hear you will getting back into caravanning. I can sympathize with you regarding your Dorset trip as when we headed down there 2 year ago we had about 1o days out of 12 rain and fog and mist !!!

Welcome to the forum. We have just got a new Quasar and no major problems so far but they are very lax at sticking edging trim down.
