Hi there, new to the forum. We got into caravaning last year. One of our children has severe learning difficulties and autism and the cost of specialist accommodation was excessive. We can now go wherever we want relaxed in the knowing it’s all set up for him. We found a 10 year old Lunar in great condition. We’ve replaced the tires and wheel bearings and it needed a new gas regulator. We had a rare weekend to ourselves last week and took it out to a site in the Staffordshire moorlands on the edge of The Peak District, bliss! Can recommend Longnor Woods park, great restaurant in the village, The Merchants House. Looking forward to September as my mate and I have a weeks leave pass and we are off to do the NC500 in his T5 camper van.

Hi Ian, welcome to caravanning and the forum. I know other parents of children with ASD who also find caravanning to be especially suitable to their children. You can maintain the same environment and routines while still enjoying a trip away. When I was a foster parent, we found it suited our ( not ASD but very traumatised) lad for similar reasons; same environment, same routines.
