Help - craked shower tray drain

We have a 2003 Bailey Pagaent Majestic which has acquired a small crack in the circumferance of the shower drain recess. It is about one third of the circle and a couple of mm above the actual drain hole ring.

Has anyone had this problem before and found a cure - short of a new shower tray? I have thought about trying to repair it with epoxy or using drainpipe cement which actually melts the plastic to form the seal but I don't know if either would work with the plastic used for the tray.

My (non-Bailey) dealer tells me this is a common problem due to the drain assembly being fixed but the tray flexing around it.
